Cushion Swap

Things have been a bit quiet around here but I have been busy on a secret project.

I wanted to make sure my swap partner Michelle had got her cushion before I shared photos of it.

This was my first ever Dresden Plate and I think I am in love!
I used Liberty fabric for the petals and white linen for the background.

I then quilted it on the machine in a sun burst style.

Better picture of the cushion flat.
I liked it so much when I had finished it I had a hard time putting in the mail!

Thank goodness Michelle liked it and has put it on her sewing chair.
She is hoping it will be safe from little fingers there!

I loved making it so so much that I have almost finished one for myself but are going to do something a little different with it...stay tuned.

Picnic and Fairgrounds by Denyse Schmidt

Had to pop into Spotlight this afternoon and almost fell over this...

Beautiful Picnic and Fairgrounds fabric by Denyse Schmidt.

I quickly text Bec, who rang and almost screamed down the phone at me to get her some as well!
We decided on half a meter of each which we are going to split into fat quarters for each of us.

The lovely Spotlight lady who was unpacking it made sure I had all the different prints and colours, shifting bolts off trolleys and unpacking any that were not already on the shelf.

So this was my trolley as I lined up to the counter.
Lucky the lady behind the counter was someone I knew and was very happy to cut them all for me and have a little chat while she was doing it!

It's now all sitting on my cutting table waiting to be cut into fat quarter pieces.

I took closer pictures of the fabrics so you can have look...

Reds,

Light blues,

Mustard yellows,

Greens and dark blues.

Now I just have to decide what to make with it, oh and give half to Bec (must not forget that!).

My Creative Space...

I'm spoilt for choice at My Creative Space today.
I have two beautiful projects I could be working on.

I received some soft and warm wool blanketing that I had ordered.
This is going to be my winter project, a wool embroidered blanket.
I can just see myself on cold nights snuggled under it embroidering bright pink and orange flowers all over it.

The second project which I'm hoping to finish most of today is a little refurbish project that I had a "Wow, that's what I could do with that!" moment last week.
So I'm off to chain myself to the sewing machine and iron and hopefully churn out a little project today.

For the new home of My Creative Space.

A giggle for your hump day...

What is better than one hand knitted Aspen style jumper?

Matching hand knitted Aspen style jumpers!

Bec and I are now saving up for a crafting weekend to Aspen in say 2050!
BYO hand knitted jumpers.

Sorry about the blurry photos, Cam, Bec and I were laughing too hard to take proper ones (along with half the Op Shop)!

FYI: Fortunately or unfortunately we did not buy the jumpers.

Flea Market Finds...

I have a fair bit of luck with the Op Shopping these last couple of weeks.

Wire magazine rack found while on a op shopping trip with Bec and Cam.

Cute little cane basket with leather straps and Kaffe Fassett knitting book found while checking out a new op shop. The basket is now home to my growing pile of hexagons.

Vintage Oroton Scarf found while on another shooping trip with Bec.

And a very exciting find! I saw this case in the window at an op shop while on holidays and when I opened it...

I knew I had to have it!
I think it is a New Home Janome Model 671 or 670 but I just love the gorgeous colour.

It also came with a buttonhole attachment.

Head over to Her Library Adventures for more Flea Market Finds.
